WEDDINGS
It is a delight to hold weddings in both our churches. People have lots of different reasons for wanting to get married in a church. For some it may be the beauty of the building, for others the sense of history and tradition. For most, though, a primary reason is wanting to ask God for his blessing on the marriage.
If neither of you has been married before, you are legally allowed to get married in the church of the parish you are living in, or the church which you attend regularly. Please contact us to discuss this. The Church of England wedding service is used, with its meaningful phrases and vows. As we are a Christian Church, we do ask that singing at the service has a positive Christian content. You will have choices to make over readings, music and hymns. There are two meetings with the clergy and other couples at which we guide you through the arrangements that have to be made.
Couples also enjoy the fact that we include a session looking at communication in a marriage. We are always ready to answer your questions.
